How do I book a session?

Please select the therapist who most meets your individual requirements and fill out their contact form . They will then get in touch with you typically within one working day to arrange an initial conversation or session.

How much are the sessions?

The cost of sessions vary, depending on which therapist you see.

Prices range from £40 – £60 for an individual counselling session and £65 for a family therapy session.

Do I need to come to Chapter House for sessions?

Chapter House is open for face-to-face sessions, but sessions can be carried out via Zoom or telephone.

Do I need to have the same time slot each week?

Each individual therapist will operate differently.

Most of our therapists offer weekly, fortnightly or flexible time slots to suit individual needs.

How long are the sessions?

Each counselling session is usually 50 minutes in duration. Occasionally, sessions may be extended by your therapist if needed.

Are sessions confidential?

Confidentiality is of paramount importance within the practice. The building is purposely discrete.

Your therapist will maintain your confidentiality unless there is a serious risk of harm to you or others, or there is a statutory obligation to disclose. Please discuss this further with your individual counsellor to check their confidentiality policy.

If you require access via the side door to the building, please arrange this with your therapist.

How long does counselling take?

This is a difficult question to answer as sessions are usually open-ended and client led. Please speak to your counsellor during your assessment session.

What if I cannot attend a session?

Each individual therapist will operate their own cancellation policy which will be discussed with you during your initial meeting.

Is Chapter House easily accessible?

Unfortunately, the majority of therapists in Chapter House have a room on the first floor and we do not have disabled toilet facilities. We appreciate that this is not ideal and we are considering creating additional accessible therapy rooms in the near future.

Where can I park?

Chapter House has a number of different parking options.

There are free on road car parking spaces all along Preston Road and up Cleveland Road. Alma Place has two free car parking spaces.

There are also spaces on Tynemouth Road/ Albion Road and Church Way but these require a ticket.
